Hi, I came across your blog via Twitter and wondered if you’d ever seen/heard these old covers of David Bowie and Yes by Happy Rhodes (I assume you know her, she’s been on World Cafe and Echoes, and “Feed The Fire” was voted most requested song of 1991). They were both recorded at the Tin Angel in 1996.

    Happy Rhodes – “Space Oddity”

    Happy Rhodes – “Soon”

Since you like Genesis I assume you like Peter Gabriel. If you don’t mind one more, here’s Happy performing “Mercy Street” at the Tin Angel in 1999.

Happy’s not a current artist (though hope springs eternal among her fans, and she might have a new album one of these years) but I think her covers and her past work (11 albums!) shouldn’t be forgotten.
