wild swim are a five piece from oxford (uk) who don’t sound like anyone but themselves; a kind-of-sort-of-artsy rock band that touch on dubstep and classic brit-rock with sweeping grand results. the musical pleasure is doublied with lead singer richard sansom – whose vocal stylings recall the dramatic flourish of morrissey and scott walker. sansom has one of those signature british voices that at times reminds me of bryan ferry or ian mcculloch. look for an album in the new year and if you just happen to be out and about in, say, oxford – go see them with trophy wife at the oxford old boot factory on november 5th. below – some tunes.
