I put on Shedding’s Tear In The Sun album this morning only to find the droning synths a comfort zone of one note pleasure. Like Side Two of Bowie’s (and Eno’s) Low, Gilberto’s “One Note Samba”, Branca’s “Lesson No. 1 For Electric Guitar,” and Autechre, this is a magic carpet ride of symphonic glaze that you don’t want to burn off. Ladies and gentlemen, you could be floating in space.
