guilty about girls’ teenage lust

15 Jan

One of my favorite newly discovered music blogs Ride The Temporecently introduced me to Vancouver’s Guilty About Girls. Their song “Candy Candy” is ridiculously catchy with a hook that promises to come knocking on your door long after it enters your room for the very first time. There’s a highly addictive efficient New Order vibe to the band with some throwback Cars and VU mixed in. Jordy Birch is the singer and guitarist and Mark Henning handles programming, keys and production. Birch and Henning were in the band Pure way back in the 90’s and doing some time on Reprise Records. You may remember this song, “Greedy” that tried to cash in on the Madchester Baggie pants thing for a while. At the time I’m sure they got some play on those really bad post-modern alt rock American radio stations. But forget that. Right now, it’s all about this jam.

Check out their Very Best Of album
