on repeat: the autumnal roar of the details

28 Oct

I love the Fall and the autumnal melancholy it often brings. Song meaning can often change depending on the season, but I think this new song from Winnipeg’s The Details will always remind me of and fit right into this season of the changing leaves. This song evokes memories of longing and a removed sense of place; which can work a number of different ways. Ever hear a song that just grabs you and holds on to you? This is one of those. It’s from the new Original Mark EP. It’s got a lilting shuffle and infectious melody then builds and builds in to a crescendo of violins, guitars and piano and it’s just breathtaking.
