Dark Was The Night

19 Feb
Dark Was The Night is a new double disc collection of 31 songs that benefits the Red Hot Organization – an international charity dedicated to raising money and awareness for HIV and AIDS. The collection was produced by The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner and is a watershed, historical moment in the more thoughtful & creative side the “indie-rock” aesthete. While there are too many highlights to list here, the album contains new music from The National, Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear, Feist with Ben Gibbard, Sharon Jones, The Decemberists, Conor Oberst w/ Gillian Welch, Yo La Tengo, The Books w/ Jose Gonzalez, Sufjan Stevens, My Brightest Diamond, Andrew Bird, My Morning Jacket, Bon Iver, Spoon and many more. Check out this tune from Dirty Projectors with David Byrne.
