Merry Xmas from Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus of Dreams

22 Dec

If you don’t know Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus of Dreams then it’s about you did. The six piece band formed in Sleepy Hollow, New York (that’s upstate North New York, folks) in the late 90’s and cite Hank Williams, Dylan, Bowie, Incredible String Band and early Pink Floyd as influences. While The Circus play a heavy cosmic brew of roots-rock that often finds them sitting in Jamband company they don’t fit in to any one neat genre, which makes them even more appealing.

They six piece have a new collection of Xmas tunes they recorded live in various places around the Easth called A Very Slambovian Christmas Live. Here’s a taste from the collection.

The band’s most recent album The Great Unravel came out this past August.
